Project Duration: 2 Years
Budget Approved: 8,00,000.00
Expected Research Outcomes:
- ldentification of winter thunderstorm events in Bangladesh linked to western disturbances, using satellite and ERA5 reanalysis data.
- High-resolution simulations of selected events using WRF witl, dual-forcing datasets (NCEPGFS and ECMWF) to compare and assess forecast accuracy.
- Validation of WRF model outputs for rainfall ancl pressure against MSWEP and ERA5 observations.
- Quantitative evaluation of model performance using RMSE, FAR, ETS and performance diagrams for enhanced understanding of forecasting accllracy.
- Practical insights for improving WRF model applications in thunderstorm prediction, with implications for timely agrioultural risk management and financial loss prevention in Bangladesh.
