The impact of hemodynamic characteristics in cerebral aneurysm based on medical imaging models: a brain stroke computational study
Project ID: ARP/2022/A&S/02/11
Funding Source: AUST Internal Research Grant
Project Awarded: 30th August, 2022
Principal Investigator:
Dr. Md. Masum Billah
Professor, A&S Department, AUST
Co-principal Investigator/s:
Dr. Kazi Ekramul Hoque
Associate Professor, A&S Department, AUST
Project Duration: 2 years
Budget approved: 8,00,000/-
Expected Research Outcomes:
- The proposed research work is expected to shed new lights on the understanding of cardiovascular irregularities especially brain stroke and the dynamics of patient-specific blood flow, pressure gradient, wall shear stress in terms of diagnosis and their dynamical role pertinent to the patient. The computational outcomes will highlight the hemodynamic characteristics that are associated to the disease (aneurysm) commencement, development, and rupture of aneurysm which could be comprehended in terms of vascular morphology. This perceptive could deliver insight into enlightening the pathophysiological assessments of morphological characteristics, namely, size and shape of cerebral aneurysm. This technique might assist the physicians to detect and identify the risk of cerebral aneurysm and rupture conditions.
